Leadership behind Mangrove Asset Management.

Gérard Lopez is the Founder and Chairman of Mangrove Asset Management, where he sets the firm's strategic direction and guides its long-term investment platform. His career has been defined by building ecosystems: identifying early opportunities, backing exceptional founders, scaling investment platforms, and connecting capital with companies across multiple stages of growth.

As co-founder of Mangrove Capital Partners, Gérard helped build one of Europe's recognized early-stage venture capital platforms, known for backing category-defining technology companies from their earliest phases. The firm's portfolio has included landmark businesses such as Skype, Wix, WalkMe, K Health, and TBOL.

Gérard is also Chairman and Founder of The Lydian Group, a digital asset and financial infrastructure investment platform focused on next-generation capital markets. Across his broader career, he has backed and scaled more than 100 companies, contributing to over $25 billion of equity value creation.

Beyond investing, Gérard has held senior leadership and ownership roles in global sports, including serving as President of Lotus F1 Team from 2009 to 2015 and holding roles across LOSC Lille, Boavista FC, and FC Girondins de Bordeaux.

Mauro Mariani serves on the Investment Committee of Mangrove Asset Management, where he supports deal-flow strategy, opportunity screening, and due diligence. He brings nearly three decades of experience across venture investing, entrepreneurship, technology innovation, and company building.

A former Investment Director at Mangrove Capital Partners, Mauro joined the firm in its early years and helped develop its international deal flow across Europe and other markets. His work included sourcing and evaluating early-stage technology companies, conducting market analysis, leading diligence processes, and supporting portfolio companies with strategic and operational guidance.

Mauro is also the Founder and Managing Director of Vendeka Partners, where he advises startups, incubators, technology-transfer organizations, and innovation ecosystems on positioning, fundraising, go-to-market strategy, and scalable growth. His background as both investor and operator gives Mangrove Asset Management added depth in evaluating founders, markets, and execution risk.

Daniel Xiao supports Mangrove Asset Management across strategy, investment analysis, and cross-border execution. He brings more than 15 years of experience in corporate development, growth investing, capital markets, and private-equity-style value creation across the U.S., China, and Europe.

Daniel currently serves as an independent board member of Clean Energy Technologies, Inc., where he advises on corporate strategy, M&A pipeline development, capital structure, international project acquisitions, and investor outreach. Previously, he was a Partner at an RMB 3.2 billion industrial and technology growth fund, investing across data intelligence, robotics, automation, new energy, and advanced manufacturing.

Earlier in his career, Daniel held strategy and operating roles with a Hong Kong-listed clean-mobility group, supporting cross-border financing, technology partnerships, and capital-markets preparation. He holds an MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.
